AnkiTube Browser is an embedded web browser that runs directly inside Anki, allowing you to access selected websites without leaving your study environment. The browser is integrated with a credit-based system: as you complete reviews and maintain consistent study sessions, you earn browsing credits that can be used to watch YouTube videos or access other approved web content.
This structure is designed to reinforce productive study behavior by pairing focused work with controlled, time-limited rewards. Instead of switching to external browsers—which often leads to extended distractions—AnkiTube keeps all activity within the Anki workspace.
For best results, it is recommended to use a third-party website blocker such as Cold Turkey (or a similar tool) to block external browsers during study sessions. This ensures that AnkiTube remains the only available browsing environment, helping maintain focus while still providing structured breaks and incentives tied directly to study progress.
It’s a work in progress. I will implement more web browser features in future releases and other tweaks such as figuring out the best ratio of “credits” per card received so it feels fair. Let me know what you think!
