Allows you to insert the IPA phonetic transcription of a word or a sentence into your notes by clicking on the music note button:
At the moment the following languages are available:
British English (eng_b) American English (eng_a) Russian (ru) German (ger) French (fr) Spanish (es) Polish (pl) Dutch (nl) SETUP Install the add-on in Anki. After that Go to Tools/Addons. Choose Anki IPA and click on “Config”. Specify which fields the add-on should use. Restart Anki.
ADDING IPA TRANSCRIPTIONS TO MULTIPLE CARDS AT ONCE It’s now possible to add IPA transcriptions to multiple cards at once.
Go to the Anki browser and select your Anki cards. Go to Edit/ Add IPA Choose the fields you want to use. The addon replaces the current content of the IPA transcription field, so be careful.

Doesn’t work for French. Instead of giving a translation of the word in IPA it just lists IPA letters. I tried English too and that works fine but French doesn’t even though it says its supported. :(

the addon’s function is good, but… hi, i am on win10 64bit, anki 23.12, qt6. both the original anki IPA addon and the fork by shige will cause the “toggle sticky” function in card editor NOT showing correct status (white/dim). thank you.

It’s really helpful but this doesn’t work well with French :( In Frech wrods make a list of the IPA symbols. Ex: “être” sould be “ɛtʁː” but put “t, ɛ, ʁ, ː” or “disponible” as “b, d, e, i, i, l, n, o, p, s, s, ˈ”. Also, when I active the syllable separator add other symbols that are not related with the original word

it’s so useful. But I only want one transcription for American English or British English, not both. Like this: I just want: agility -> /əˈdʒɪl.ə.t̬i/ not: agility -> əˈd͡ʒɪlɪti|əˈd͡ʒɪləti (it looks so messy)
And I don’t like “ɹ” - The letter “r” is reversed, I want “r” - the normal
