This add-on is a fixed version of the “Anki IPA” for Anki23.12 ~ Anki25.09+. How to use it, please refer to the original add-on. (If the original add-on has been updated to Anki 23.12+, this fork is not required.)

Great Add-on but unfortunately it is failing for French:
Sometimes it is skipping the first word: Vous êtes charmant. -> ɛt ʃaʁmɑ̃

I’m a little confused. This works when I add an ipa to an existing card, but when I add it via asb player, the ipa does not automatically appear. Or should it be like that? Functionality is excellent. There are some words that do not convert correctly for German, such as Uran (uranium), or not at all, such as Akzent (accent). Das Uran may not be a common word, but der Akzent is a very commonly used word. Comment from author hi thanks for the report, I’ll look into it.

very cool, I’ve been transcribing my french words one by one using French IPA look up then I used this add on most of the words matched very well, there was some problems like the word CHEVAL which was only transcribed as l and it also has problems transcribing short sentences like je ne peux pas, it lacks the first je, also sentences of 2 or 4 words are not transcribed correctly and only show one of the four words, but still very usefull it saves a lot of time, also sad it doesnt include portug

The only problem is what when I want to create an IPA phonetic for a word whose IPA starts with the apostrophe-like symbol (stress marker), the return is an empty IPA field.
Example: cornerstone return an empty field because its IPA is: ˈkɔrnərˌstoʊn, which starts with ’

✅ Steps to Add IPA to Your Anki Cards (Using the IPA Add-on)
- Download the IPA Add-on o In Anki, go to: Tools > Add-ons > Get Add-ons o Paste the add-on code (e.g., 86000097) o Click OK, then restart Anki
- Select Your Deck (IMPORTANT) o From the main Anki window, click Browse o In the left sidebar, find and click on the name of your deck o This shows all the cards in that deck in the browser window

The leaderboard is a different add-on, when you download the add-on the option to display the leaderboard should show up in the menu. ------- Edit 3 Thank you for fixing the punctuation bug! The add-on works great! I only noticed these minor things while practicing my Spanish today :
- The word “en” is skipped on all cards.
- Capitalized words are skipped - this only happens on batch edit, but not when the add-on is run on one note by clicking the musical notes button.
- The one-letter words “a” and “y” are skipped (while “e”, “u”, “o” are not). Example: “Yo hago ejercicio y estoy en forma.” -> “ˈaɣo exeɾˈsisjo esˈt̪oj ˈfoɾ

the addon’s function is good, but… hi, i am on win10 64bit, anki 23.12, qt6. both the original anki IPA addon and the fork by shige will cause the “toggle sticky” function in card editor NOT showing correct status (white/dim). thank you.
