Alt + C to “see” small details.
This makes a “magnifying glass” mouse cursor (slices a square off of the Anki window and makes the mouse cursor a magnified version of that square). When Alt + C is released, the mouse cursor will reset after a short time.
You can customize settings such as the amount of magnification, size of the crosshairs, and time delay for resetting the mouse cursor from the Config button from the Add-ons menu under Tools. The amount of magnification is controlled by specification of the size of the square to slice off the window and the size of the square that the mouse cursor should become.
This is useful for studying IO cards with small, hard-to-see details, and was something that I personally wanted in Anki for a long time.
If you notice the magnifying glass mouse cursor resetting once shortly after turning on, this may be due to the operating system keyboard shortcut repeat delay. Changing this to a shorter setting should make that go away.
On 12/31/2022, I have removed 2 other versions of this add-on and updated this one to be the latest version. The exact functionality of the other versions can be reproduced by editing the configuration, however it is possible that the refactoring introduced bugs for older Anki versions. seems like it would work great, but i just cannot figure out how to adjust the size of the magnification. could you help me there?

Simple use and helpful. If you have upgrade you should add config mouse for magnifing

after releasing the alt+c it doesn’t disappear immediately, instead it kinda replay my mouse movement then disappear. ive tried tuning the setting but nothing worked. Comment from author Hi, thanks for trying the add-on. yes that is the best I could do for that unfortunately when I made that change. maybe I can revisit it and try to improve that later but for now that is kind of the expected behavior

Great! I think a convenient update would be to automatically exit from the magnifying glass mode when the user releases the alt+C keys, instead of additionally pressing alt+X.
