Mô tả chi tiết

During every single card you waste time deciding how to score it. Those seconds add up really fast. Once Automatic Scoring eliminates that delay, you will be amazed how fast you finish your Anki cards.

The Automatic Scoring add-on saves you from making that decision by adjusting the focus for you. The focus is the faint grey box that surrounds an answer choice. Ordinarily, when you click Show Answer the focus is on good so that if you then press enter or space it will choose good. After you download the Automatic Scoring add-on (and restart Anki) when you click Show Answer, the focus will be on easy if you answered quickly, good if you answered in a normal amount of time, hard if you took longer and again if you took even longer. You can then press enter (or space) to select the score that Automatic Scoring chose or you can click whatever answer choice you want with the mouse or the number keys.

The default setting is that the variable ‘seconds’ equals 5. This means if you click show answer: 0-4 seconds: Easy 5-9 seconds: Good 10-14 seconds: Hard Over 15 seconds: Again

For new cards that have 3 answer choice: 0-4 seconds: Easy 5-14 seconds: Good Over 15 seconds: Again

For red cards that have 2 answer choice: 0-14 seconds: Good Over 15 seconds: Again

How to Find This Add-On: On Anki’s Add-On page search for the word scoring.

Changing the Settings: Click Tools, Add-ons, Config and set the number of seconds.

Recommendations: If you would like Anki to automatically show the answer I would recommend downloading the Speed Focus add-on by Glutanimate. I would suggest having Anki show the answer at the same time that this add-on sets the focus to again. It is as if Anki is saying at 15 seconds (or whatever time you choose) “Time is up, here’s the answer and this card will be marked again.” The Speed Focus add-on also includes a useful bell which you can set to ring after a certain amount of seconds. Please note that whereas the Automatic Scoring settings are for all decks (and profiles) Speed Focus options are specific to each options group. If someone would like to update Automatic Scoring so that the settings are specific to each options group I would be appreciative.

I recommend selecting Easy often. Each of your cards has a number called Ease which keeps track of how easy the card is for you. Anki tries to calculate the Ease by starting with a default (called the Starting Ease, mine is set to 190) and decreasing it whenever you select hard or again. But what if the value of Ease is too low and doesn’t correctly reflect how well you know the card? Anki increases the Ease when you select easy. Therefore I recommend setting the Starting Ease to slightly less (Deck Options, New Cards tab), Easy Bonus to 100 (Deck Options, Reviews tab) and selecting Easy frequently so that the Anki algorithm can find an accurate Ease value for each card.

Known Issues: If you scroll after pressing Show Answer the focus leaves the answer choice selected by Automatic Scoring. If you subsequently press enter you will choose good. Therefore, if you want to select a different score you must click it or use the number keys.

Changelog: v.03 5/4/2020 - Adjusted timing so that the focus moves off of easy after the chosen amount of time regardless of the number of answer options. Works properly with or without the 2.1 scheduler. Adjusted timing to work properly with the auto-reveal option of the “Speed focus mode” add on.

Thanks and Credits: This was my first add-on and I couldn’t have made it without Liam Cooke’s add-on “Quick& Easy.” Thank you Liam. Unlike his add on, Automatic Scoring does not take into account if you have seen the card previously during this session of Anki.

Learn a lot and enjoy, Simcha Rimler

Doesn’t work for me, not sure why

Great addon.

I’ve modified it to disable “Easy” button when card is in learning mode. That way I will not interrupt normal learning steps even if I answer it fast. However, I cannot find a way to contact author or find the script on Github to create PR for this. Would be nice if description contained some more links.

UPD: found why the errors came out. This addon conflicts with Incremental Reading addon. Disable whichever of them you don’t need ATM.

Very useful addon! Thanks a lot!

I believe the addon to be great, but it doesn’t work for me.

My thumbs down isn’t the estimate of the addon but the measure to attract author’s attention (if any).

Got this when answering the cards:

Error

An error occurred. Please start Anki while holding down the shift key, which will temporarily disable the add-ons y

Excellent app but I can’t help but notice one big flaw on my end—specifically regarding new (‘blue’) cards: I may now a new card purely based on short-term memory. It’d be nice to have an option to either disable this add-on for new cards to adjust the temporal threshold of “easy” for these cards.

I really liked it, and it worked really well the first day. However, today I noticed that sometimes it would select one button below the highlighted button. From what I can gather, it still tracks the time even after I show answer, so if I take a couple seconds to read the answer and confirm I was correct it might end up thinking I took longer and select the wrong button. I’m not sure how to fix this. Comment from author Actually I have the same issue. (The reason is that starting with version 2

Like the last reviewer, there were some tweaks I wanted that the config didn’t allow for. This is the behavior I’m looking for:

  • never change the default for ‘fresh’ (first time learning) cards. Those cards may well be in short term memory, so ‘easy’ doesn’t really apply to them. The only exception would be if the card were already familiar to me, in which case ‘easy’ could be a shortcut to saying ‘I know this already’. But that’s a very rare workflow, and I don’t think it deserves optimiza

works well however you should add all modifiers to config. i was able to get the results i needed by editing the addon files, but it would be nice if you included these in config so people can tweak more then just x5 ect. i left the modifier in config at 5 and changed the addon file to 800 to get easy in under 4 sec, 4000 for good at 20 seconds, and beyond 6200 to have again afer 30 seconds. i think you could make config way easier by setting the modifier to x1, and putting the seconds for each

I thought of this myself last year and set things up just via straight html and javascript.

I made it consider about answer’s characters length so that, depending on how long is the answer the automatic scorer would wait for a time interval proportional to the length to assign the relative button. Also, take into account that there is an amount of time (few seconds) that are shared among all answers’ lengths (i.e., regardless of how much you have to remember, there is a recall gap).

I also sug

You recommend setting “Easy Bonus to 100”, but wouldn’t that mean that there’s no difference between Good and Easy for review cards?

From the manual:

> Easy bonus allows you to set the difference in intervals between answering Good and Easy on a card. For instance, with the default value of 130%, Easy will give an interval that is 1.3 times the Good interval. Comment from author Very good question: Using my setting recommendations, clicking Easy will make the next interval about the same le

Thanks for this awesome addon Simcha! I imported it to Anki 2.1 and fixed an apparent bug where new cards had a lower threshold for being rated as easy.
