Bullet Point and Numbered List Converter for Anki
Hi there! I made this little Anki addon to solve a simple problem I had.
Sometimes, I just want to quickly paste a simple list into the Anki editor, using hyphens (-) for bullet points or numbers (1., 2., etc.) for a numbered list. Anki’s editor doesn’t automatically turn this into a nicely formatted HTML list, so it can look a bit messy on the final flashcard.
This addon fixes that.
What it does
It adds a new button to the Anki editor toolbar (and a handy shortcut: Ctrl+Shift+B).
When you select a block of text that’s formatted as a simple list, you can either click the button or use the shortcut, and the addon will instantly convert it into a proper HTML <ul> (for bullet points) or <ol> (for numbered lists) list.
This means your lists will look clean, organized, and properly indented on your flashcards.
How to use it Type or paste a list into the Anki editor. Use - for each bullet point or 1., 2., etc., for a numbered list. select the field where the you pasted it in step 1. Click the new “Convert List” button in the toolbar or press Ctrl+Shift+B. That’s it! Your list is now beautifully formatted.
I hope you find it as useful as I do! (vibecoded w gemini)

This addon did not work for me. Running Version 25.07.5. I also added the extended editor for field addon to see if it will make a difference and it did not work.

love the idea, and it works, the only problem is, that the space between the bulletpoints is insanely big, fix that if possible Comment from author Haha glad you liked it. While I was building the addon, I faced the same space issue, but I left it as is intentionally so that I can be more mindful about what card I am actually making and not just copy pasting and automating everything to make bulk cards without understanding them in the first place. also, This addon best works with this other ad
