Mô tả chi tiết

This add-on is unsupported going forward. I strongly recommend using the Blitzkrieg: Advanced Browser Sidebar or Glutanimate’s Hierarchical Tags 2. If you have update to Anki 2.1.17 then you will need to use Glutanimate’s add-on.

An Anki 2.1 Addon for Hierarchical Tags, with context aware renaming.

Based on the addon we know and love Hierarchical Tags by pneff, ported to anki 2.1 plus some enhancements

  • Clicking on a tag such as it will no longer show all cards with tags beginning in it*
  • Allowing any tag separator - configurable in Tools>Addons>Config
  • Renaming tags appropriate to the tag hierarchy on right click!

Config This add-on will work as expected out of the box, but there are some settings you can configure to suit your needs.

default_depth - Default depth expanded to on opening the Browser. Set to 0 for a completely closed tree

full_tag - Defaults to false. Means that the tag Apple::Braeburn::Juicy will be displayed as Juicy under the tags Apple and Braeburn

separator - Defaults to :: but can be changed if you’re using something different.

Renaming Tags Right click on a tag in the browser to rename the tag. Any child tags will be renamed to preserve the hierarchy.

Issues If you have a very large number of tags, this add-on may cause a slow down when opening the browser. I’m currently looking into optimizations.

Changes

  • Allowed showing only Child in Menu - makes things neater!
  • Added default expansion depth
  • FIxed unicode handling for umlauts
  • Fixed Hiding of Marked and Leeches
  • Fixed Icon displays
  • Fixed ctrl & space selection of multiple tags

As ever feel free to suggest any features or raise any bugs! Source: https://github.com/glfharris/echelon

It would be of great help if the plugin is available in multiple languages. I am a student who only knows Spanish and I have to use Google Translate to be able to use almost all Anki plugins, please also release Spanish versions. PS: thanks Google translator

This add-on (version from 2019-11-18) no longer works with Anki 2.1.17 (released

) or newer because of changes in Anki 2.1.17. All add-ons that modify the browser sidebar need to be updated.

On 2020-01-11 the only sidebar add-on that works with 2.1 is “Hierarchical Tags 2 (Anki 2.1.17 support)”, https://ankiweb.net/shared/info/594329229, which glutanimate just released. The popular add-on “Blitzkrieg: Advanced Browser Sidebar”, https://ankiweb.net/shared/info/564851917, will be updated later.

This addon lets you bulk edit tags which was a life-saver for me and I feel is the best functionality of it. I don’t believe that it is more useful on a day to day basis since the original addon is also faster. Because of its functionality I see this more as an accessory to the original addon and not so much a replacement.

The additional features in this version that were missing from the original are great, but the performance hit is not worth it for anyone with a lot of nested tags.

The original port runs leaner and is thus a better option unless you run a lean set of tags.

It’s a fantastic effort overall, but given a high tag volume on my library, it significantly slows down my app and causes me to Force Quit Anki. I understand the creator is looking into this but just wanted to confirm that it is still an issue.

best add-on for organization

edit: I second the recommendation of the Blitzkrieg add-on. It has more functions.

Hierarchical Tags for Anki 2.1are not working on my anki

Terrific work. Converting to hierarchical tags with the renaming tool speeds things up dramatically.

thanks,it is great! can “default_depth”: 0, be something else that I can Collapse Deck, filter and note Tree in Browser. it is much helpful if the tags can be on the top of the list.thanks again.

It was rather painful to redo the tags for a huge deck, but it pays off. No more clutter in my side bar. If I would need to point out a flaw, it would be the fact that each hierarchy dependence is a tag of its own, so if you would like to have the same sub-tag in two categories of a higher rank, you need to ad two hierarchy tags to your card. There’s no other way to assign a sub-tag to more categories.

What I’m trying to say is that when I wanted to have my deck of a few subjects grouped into m

can I hide a main tag name in sub tags?

I mean, if i have A::B::C, than this hierarchy is shown at side bar like this.

A

∨A::B

>A::B::C

but what i want for side bar tree is

A

∨B

>C

Is there a way for me to do that?

also, I want this tag trees always be open, not hide sub tags. could it be possible?

by the way, Thank you for your awesome add-on!

It worked pretty well and I love the “replace” function. It would be even better if primary Tag could be hidden in the unfolded Subtag. For example “Tag1::SubTag1” showing only “SubTag1 under unfolded “Tag1”, just like the navigation pane in the PC file explorer.

It’s really good, except for one caveat, although that could just be a unique bug on my end. If there’s more than 3 levels in a tag hierarchy, then clicking on the highest-level tags won’t give any results, because instead of searching for “tag:myTag or tag:myTag::*” it’ll just search for “tag:myTag” - the wildcard subtag search doesn’t show up.

Thank you so much, I was about to write this kind of feature!

its works perfectly for me. good job !

👍 2019-06-23

Brilliant, thank you so much for this add on. Unfortunately I have the same problem when trying to rename tags, I’ll file an issue on Github.

👍 2019-06-16

I loved this add on until I realized it wasn’t compatible with night mode! :( Can you make it so that it’s compatible?

👍 2019-05-29

Hierarchical tags work, you just have to restart Anki after installing the add-on. Haven’t tested the other features. I chose to install this over the other version because this seems like it’s being updated/maintained and has the source code on GitHub.

The customizable tag separator saves my day (emacs org -> anki)!

👍 2019-03-09

Very helpful in organizing cards.

FYI, I would like an option to expand/collapse all (keyboard shortcut?)

👍 2019-02-11

Seems the download is no longer downloadable. Kept getting a 404 error.

Any assistance would be appreciated! Comment from author This is either an error with ankiwebs servers, or you’re trying to install it on Anki 2.0. This addon is only for Anki 2.1.

An improvement on the earlier port called “Hierarchical Tags Addon (2.0 => 2.1)”, thank you.
