❓ How to Use the Exam Scheduler v1 Add-on and Why It’s Useful?
💡 The Exam Scheduler add-on is designed to adjust the number of daily cards in your deck to ensure you can review and prepare all your cards before your exam date.

⚙️ Features and Usage:
To open Exam Scheduler, go to the top menu bar, click on Tools, and select Exam Scheduler from the dropdown menu. A window will open where you can select your desired deck and set your exam date. You can either manually input the date or select it using the calendar feature. If done correctly, you will receive a notification confirming the successful adjustments to your deck.
❗ Advanced Settings:
Buffer Days: This setting specifies the period during which new cards must be reviewed. Ideally, it should be set between 2 and 4 weeks. By default, it is set to the average value of 21 days. Skip Days: This is an estimated number of days you plan to take off (e.g., due to holidays, weekends, illness, etc.).
🟢 Coming Soon (in the next few weeks or months, I hope): I’m planning to release Exam Scheduler v2, which will include enhanced functionality, such as:
Retention Period: Adds additional reviews for cards closer to the exam date, increasing the likelihood of retaining the material.
Support Period: Temporarily lowers retention requirements (e.g., to 70%) when the exam is far away, saving time on study sessions.
Consolidation Period: Gradually increases retention back to around 90% as the exam approaches, adding extra reviews for better preparation.
Additional Review Sessions: Introduces more frequent reviews for cards you’ve forgotten or find difficult to ensure mastery by exam day.
Time Optimisation: Distributes review sessions efficiently, ensuring exam preparation is effective without consuming unnecessary time.
Automatic Schedule Adjustment: Integrates with your main review schedule, making changes only where necessary for exam readiness.
Missed Days Management: Accounts for potential breaks (e.g., holidays or illness) and automatically adjusts the review schedule accordingly.

Ignore the bad reviews; it doesn’t mess up your card scheduling whatsoever. I think it’s good for figuring out how many cards you need to do in x number of days with x amount of break days. I don’t really use break days a lot, so I keep that at 0 typically. I wish there was like a feature where you can change the default settings or specific tags to use (my cards can span across different decks sometimes). 10/10 please never stop updating this :pray:

An excellent add-on that allows you to study effectively for a specific exam date. As an Anki add-on developer, I recommend ignoring negative reviews; many people comment without understanding how Anki works.

This add-on only seems to work for specific subdecks, which is quite annoying when you have a lot of subdecks. I have around 3000 cards to learn but only max. 50 cards per subdeck so this would take a long time.

I have literally hundreds of subdecks and have to scroll manually to find the parent deck and set it. Also, tried adding a deck once I finally found it, and it said I had no new cards. I definitely have new cards.
