Migaku Kanji GOD!!
The Migaku Kanji God addon allows you to learn kanji in an order that is optimal for you. No more learning of kanji you almost never see. The addon creates the kanji cards for you as you go!

The main features are: ● Automatically creates the necessary kanji cards for the cards that are in the queue of any premade deck of your choosing (e.g. card contains 私 and the addon creates cards for 厶, 禾 and 私, in this order). ● Automatically creates kanji cards when you add a card to your decks that contains a kanji you do not yet know. ● Cards show you words YOU have learned, have in your deck or not learned yet, or example words if its a new kanji! ● Look up any kanji with the build in kanji dictionary. ● Track your kanji stats. ● Learn kanji in the optimal order for the JLPT, Kanken or just by school year, frequency. ● All of those functions can be used for recognition cards, production cards or both! ● The Database is managed by the community! You can suggest changes if info is missing! ● Keywords, meaning and mnemonic stories are provided, but you can add your own keywords and stories!

Really amazing add on! I learned all kanji for JLPT N4 (and N5) within 40 days. Setup is not that complicated! Only annoying thing are the many, many mnemotics that feel like straight from a locker room.

A must have for anyone who wants to seriously learn kanji, setup video is still relevant and useful and only annoyance is the fact that the addon only supports versions below 23.12.1 but thats it

Way too complicated. The setup video is old and settings look different now. Not a bad idea but yet another learning resource that tries to do too much.

Probably my favorite add-on for Anki. It allows you to automatically add kanji from your vocab deck (including their primitive components) based on the RTK method. It’s also nice to have a native kanji browser so i can look up kanji meanings directly from anki. The ability to see your current learned/learning kanji is also super interesting and helpful.
My only problem is that It can really slow down the Anki Browser when you have hundreds of kanji, which I’ve never noticed with my other decks

It’s a great tool but actions are not available on mobile/ipad, which is mostly where I study. This is an issue because the stories are riddled with incels writing extremely problematic stuff (i.e. sexist, racist, sexually frustrated, etc. just pathetic).
More importantly, the keywords aren’t even good a lot of the time and don’t actually relate to the words associated with the kanji, or its meaning. One example being「校」showing as “exam” when in reality it means school — 学校 . Meanwhile exam is

Best kanji addon for anki ever, no doubt. I have used it for maybe half a year now and have been loving it, however some things are really annoying and I whish there was some way to go about it…
So I had not updated Kanji GOD to the newest version until quite recently, reason being that the update never worked due to some bug, so the only way to update was delete the entire plugin and install the newest version fresh. Problem being that I would loose all my kanji knowledge, and just loading

Thanks for make the add-on but it doesn’t work. I have the Tango N5-N4 decks and all I wanted to do was add all the kanji in them to the Recognition deck. However, you can’t really do that, I’m pretty sure it was doing that in the early versions but not anymore. Adding registered fields only serves to identify the kanji but not include them. I don’t see the point. The only way to add kanji is through Add New Cards but there’s no option to add the kanji from the registered fields… “After that w

This is by far the best way to learn Kanji after exploring many options in the last 3 years. However, there is room for a lot of improvement.
The power of Kanji GOD is that (a) you study kanjis only when you’re exposed to a word in another deck, and (b) it breaks them down into radicals/primitives and these are shown in independent cards. There are some issues with the latter.
Sometimes, new kanjis are not broken down into radicals and showed before. For example, I just got a new card 交, b

Although I am having issues with the vocab part not updating the words I know, even though the fields of those cards are selected. It only includes vocab from those cards if the notes are newly made (after the time I installed the migaku add on)

I switched from my KLC Kanji anki deck (after 1130~cards) and Converted all cards. It allowed me to keep the keywords from KLC.
Now I just learn new Kanjis in the Kanji God add on way, it’s awesome!
I still learn new Kanjis using my KLC book first.
I’m really happy I switched to this method, finally doing something usefull to progress in japanese.
