Plays the .mp3 or .wav sound file of your choosing when you finish a deck!
Updated to support the newest version of Anki, and now using Qt6! You can download the Qt5 version here from the Qt5 branch on the GitHub page (via the the contact author link below)
Default sound is the jingle from when you complete the NYT crossword (“San José Strut”)
To change the sound, go to “Tools” > “Change completion jingle” and pick the sound from your computer.
Haven’t tested this on Mac, so would love some feedback if it works OK!

one of my favorite addons fr, intuitive to use and feels surprisingly good after finishing a deck. unfortunately it doesn’t work on 2.1.66 - please update!! Comment from author Really appreciate that, and thanks for the heads up! Will do my best to get it tuned up soon

found a really specific bug:
when this addon is activated whenever i hit “good” or “again” the sound of my card is not interrupted, it plays until the end which makes it unusable in sentence decks since i have to hear the whole sentence even if i got it wrong and already want to study the next card. with speedfocus its even worse because you lose seconds of the next card waiting for the previous one to stop playing Comment from author should be fixed!

Edit: It works now, I just put my file back in and pressed “open” and it worked (i feel so stupid lol). Thanks a lot! I just have one question, is there a way for me to put a bunch of mp3 files in there and it randomly select one? Comment from author Great to hear! Not stupid at all haha. Old - Hi there! This addon currently only supports the Qt6 version of Anki, unfortunately. Let me know if you’re using Qt6, or if you upgrade to Qt6 and the error persists.

No longer works. I’m running Anki version 2.1.61. When I update anki to newest version I will try again and amend review it it works.
My old review in 2023 said: “This is fresh. I have it set to the “congratulations” sound from super smash bros melee. Is there any way to add a photo to the congratulations screen too? I’m on Version 23.12.1 on Mac, and it works perfectly. Not only that, the exact sound I wanted was the NYT jingle!!! So hyped about having this new add-on in my Anki.

(2) Is it possible to have a different jingle per deck: I am creating language learning dialogue decks with on sentence per note, and at the end of rehearsing the deck it would be nice to hear the complete dialogue in the right order for finishing off.

I LOVE this add on! I recently switched to apple silicon laptop and now my addon doesn’t work with this error code. If you could please look into it I would greatly appreciate it!

Just giving the requested feedback:
this does work on Mac (as of 2.1.66 Silicon version). My only notes are: the jingle seems to play twice at completion and the jingle plays even if I click on a deck from the main menu that was previously completed (rather than playing solely upon completion of that deck). Not really a big issue, but figured I’d mention it at least for awareness.

great! gamification is the key! that congrats screen is depressing.
edit: can you modify this to play only on the deck completion screen and not “when ending reviewer”. the congrats confetti addon managed to do this with image but not sound. I tried to modify the addon myself but wasn’t able to figure it out. the celebration sounds have been congratulating me for my bathroom breaks Comment from author Fixed! Works great on windows! Was looking for this exact addon since I startet Anki.
A good jingle is the FF Fanfare
But consider an option that won’t play the sound when I just exist a deck.

Works just as described and really nice to hear the little jingle when you finish your cards. Would love to be able to add different chimes for different decks if that’s possible.
