After installing the add-on and restarting Anki, the audio files will be played using VLC media player.
If I remember correctly, the video will be played by VLC too.
The add-on will only work on Windows and VLC is expected to be installed at C:\Program Files\VideoLAN\VLC
It was last tested with Anki 24.11 and VLC 3.0.21.

After installation I got the following error message: “Sound and video on cards will not function until mpv or mplayer is installed” and sound did not work.
After installation in the folder “C:\Program Files\VideoLAN\VLC” it does work.
Yet there seems to be a conflict with the “Customize Keyboard Shortcuts” Addon. The button “pause audio” does not work when using “Zzz (legacy) No Sound Fix (VLC)” addon even when set to different keys. It does work again when disabling the app. Comment from au
