This add-on is a simple fork (copy) of “Add note id” for Anki23+. How to use it, please refer to the original add-on.

[ 📥 How do I install this add-on? ] Copy and paste the add-on code ( 8897764 ) into Anki and you can install it. ( Menu -> Tools -> Add-ons -> Get Add-ons -> Code [ add-on code ] ) When I develop bug fixes, create new features, or compatibility for New Anki, I will notify you and you can install it. Works as advertised as of 30NOV2025, unlike the other add-ons which are no longer supported and therefore incompatible with newer versions of Anki. Comment from author thanks for the feedback! :D

Comment from author Hi thanks for using this add-on. I think you can add batches to the ID field from the add-on menu. (Anki Menu -> Tools -> add note ids)

Great! But, it is essential to update the ID when copying a note. I think, many users use a workflow of creating a new note by “forking” an existing note. Comment from author Thanks for the feedback! It might be useful to be able to auto change the ID, I’ll look into it.
