Sets the Ease factor of all the cards in your collection to the value you choose, and updates Interval Modifier and Starting Ease in every option group. Inspired by ResetEZ.
The addon is intended for people who want to switch from default Anki settings to the setup recommended by Tatsumoto. If you’ve been using Anki for a while, simply changing the settings won’t help because all your cards would still retain their Ease factors. The only way to reset Ease factors of your cards is to use an external tool. If you have followed the recommended settings from the beginning, this add-on is not needed. The other feature of this add-on is to undo damage that was caused by overusing the “hard” button, in other words, to swiftly escape from “ease hell.”
You can run the add-on by going to AJT > Reset Ease.
Configuration
To configure the add-on, open the Anki Add-on Menu via Tools > Add-ons and select ResetEase. Then click the Config button on the right-side of the screen.
Support what I do
I would not have been able to develop this add-on without the support of my patrons. Thanks so much!

Been using it for a while, really useful, but I have a question, will it be rendered obsolete by FRSR? I read there is no ease hell anymore, and it works great for 2-button users (again+good). How should we transition to it, just uninstall or return the modified settings to default first(interval modifier, etc.)? Comment from author https://tatsumoto.neocities.org/blog/setting-up-anki#fsrs

when are you gonna change that addon name to fit the AJATT tools? Comment from author Currently working on the next update. Probably after that.

Found it useful, but I had the doubt that if I used it on version 2.149 before it was supported by the add-on it was going to cause any trouble in my intervals.

It’s definitely not working for older Anki versions like 2.1.33.
There’s a golden rule about anki: never touch a running system, so lots of serious user never update anki, especially if they use multiple addons that aren’t updated anymore.
So I highly recommend this addon to be updated / downdated for older versions. Comment from author I have bumped the minimum supported version to 2.1.35. I also advice you to install the latest version of Anki to avoid further problems.

Easy to follow instructions and it worked with no problem. I’m loving the Refold site! Thanks a lot for the many resources you’ve put forward

I’m getting the same issue, but Anki says the add-on is up to date:

I was reading the page for ResetEZ and wished something like this existed. I’m glad I looked around and found this. Thank you so much, works great! Apparently the nested deck functionality has been added, but the updated add on throws an error for me. I pasted the error message below. Is this a version issue? Thanks again!

The addon works just as expected but please leave a note in the description tha it is not compatiple with the Migaku Vacation schedule optimizer. I had it installed and after the optimization the intervals got extremely large.

Thanks! Just installed this instead of the former Reset Ease + Force Sync plugin, which is not relevant.
Why do you reset Interval Modifier to 190% instead of 191% as recommended by Refold? I couldn’t find how to change this by default in the config.
Does it matter? Comment from author Thank you for the review! The difference between 190% is 191% is negligible. You can choose your own value before applying the settings.

It works

A useful add-on, but why does it not let to put ease at 130% and IM at 192%? Those are the intervals which recommended in https://refold.la/roadmap/stage-1/a/anki-setup Comment from author If a user sets Starting Ease to 130%, it always gets reset back to 250% after a force sync. So by setting Starting Ease to 131% you can avoid the bug.
