This plugin is no longer necessary with Anki 2.1.52 and above, which supports dark mode and automatic switching out of the box. My thanks to the Anki developers for implementing this feature!
This add-on sets Night Mode when Anki is launched, using the the darkdetect Python library to detect dark mode. This should work with any version of macOS, Windows and Linux that supports dark mode.

This was the only plugin that fixed the classic issue with dark themes in Linux (almost illegible black font over dark grey background), both in Mint (Cinnamon) and Manjaro (GNOME). Now the interface looks great. Thanks!

Good! But here is a little problem when using the add-one fast word query, please make an adaptation to it.
How to repeat this problem?
After installing the fast word query add one, click the tools in the menu bar, then click FastWQ. Then you would see the color of the column of Dictionary is not correct. It might be white or grey. When I use the dark mode in the Anki’s preference, it’s correct without this problem.
