Overview
The Bluetooth Anti-Lag Add-on is designed to eliminate the audio lag experienced when using Anki with a Bluetooth headset, specifically the lag that occurs at the start of audio playback on Anki cards. Bluetooth headsets enter a sleep mode when not receiving an audio signal, and when they receive an audio signal again, it takes about a second for the headset to fully wake up and start playing the audio. By looping a silent audio while Anki is running, this add-on maintains the connection with the headset and prevents this lag.
How to use
After installing the add-on, silent audio playback automatically begins when you start Anki. The playback continues for as long as Anki is running, preventing interruptions to the Bluetooth connection and avoiding audio lag.
Mechanism
- The Python script of the add-on is stored in Anki’s
add-on folder.

When Anki starts, the Python script of the add-on is executed.

The script begins playing a silent audio as soon as Anki starts. This audio uses the
5-minutes-of-silence.mp3file located in theAudiosubfolder of the add-on folder.
Note
This add-on uses Anki’s built-in player for audio playback. When the add-on is enabled, audio will be looped for as long as Anki is running.

使い方
アドオンをインストール後、Ankiを起動すると無音の音声の再生が自動的に始まります。再生はAnkiが起動している間ずっと続き、Bluetooth接続が途切れることなく、オーディオのラグを回避します。
仕組み

Perfect! This solved my problem where around the first 0.5s of audio was always “cut”. I don’t use Bluetooth speakers, but it seems my laptop’s audio driver uses a similar deep sleep/low power state. Anyway, this add-on solved it for me. MANY THANKS!
