This addon adds a new cloze note type. All clozes are hidden when you’re answering one of them. Notes should be created on the PC/Mac version of Anki. They can be modified in mobile environments to some extent. Generated cards work on both AnkiMobile and AnkiDroid.

Was one of my most used add-ons but after the update, toggle hide all button is just not there. Dear author please fix this and thank you in advance. My entire review schedule is stuff because of this.

My most-used addon, but now unfortunately doesn’t work after latest addon update. The ‘toggle masks’ button no longer appears on the back of the card and all other answers are hidden with no way to reveal (regardless of whether “hide all others on back side” is on/off). ctrl+r shortcut wasn’t working before this update. Comment from author Sorry for inconvenience :) issue had been resolved. Hope it helps

I love this addon. But there’s a bug. If the Clozes contain the } character, this } character always shows up on Front and Back Sides of other Cloze Cards within the same Note. If this bug get fixed this addon will be perfect. Thank you

While the functionality is quite good, the no Toggle Masks button appears after revealing the back of the card, making reviewing concepts as a whole difficult.

Great concept but unfortunately takes up a huge amount of RAM.
It caused extreme lag during both review as well as in the browser – making Anki near unusable.
Hoping I can circle back around to this in the future. Comment from author Memory leaks had been fixed on recent versions :) would you mind updating? Thanks

I had the same issue as another poster. I thought my anki had a memory leak, because whenever I opened the browser it would be so slow I could not even click through things without lag, would then push my RAM up to 11 gigs within 20 minutes and crash. Browser is working properly now that it is disabled. I am on anki Version 24.06.3 (d678e393) Python 3.9.18 Qt 6.6.2 PyQt 6.6.1 on an M1 Macbook air.

running Version 2.1.66 (70506aeb), Python 3.9.15 Qt 6.5.0 PyQt 6.5.0. Makes my browser incredibly slow. Manually checked to see every add-on, and this one was the culprit. I like the functionality, but Anki was crashing or taking 10+ seconds to switch cards in the browser.

Great Add-on. I use it extensively. For those who wish to use TTS or type the answers you can avoid being bothered by the ! being spoken or needing to be typed by creating a new field “ClozeCopies”. Hints and extra text need not be copied. Just delete any leading ! in the copies. Then use the new field for TTS and typing.

Because somebody asked how to change the toggle size. This worked for me:

Go to the Cloze (Hide All) addon settings and make sure “noModelMigration” is set on true.

Go to the card settings → back → scroll down to .cloze2-toggle → change values
