Show a pop-up before deleting a note in Reviewer to prevent accidental deletion.
This add-on is a fixed and customized version for Anki25+ of the addon “confirm deletion”, originally created by ijgnd and credit goes to them.
How to use Auto displays a popup when deleting a note using the reviewer’s shortcut key or More button. Press Yes to delete the note, press No to cancel. You can optionally change which button the popup focuses by default (Yes or No). Unchecked defaults to Yes, checked defaults to No. You can optionally change the popup’s ask text. Default:“Really delete the current note and all of its cards?” Note This add-on only works with Reviewer for now, not the browser. This add-on is relatively fragile, so if it doesn’t work fine, please contact me. Change log 2025-10-20:

📥 How do I install this add-on? This add-on works with Anki for desktop (it does not work on mobile). Download Anki from the official website if you haven’t already. Copy and paste the add-on code ( 354810378 ) into Anki and you can install it. ( Menu -> Tools -> Add-ons -> Get Add-ons -> Code [ add-on code ] ) When I develop bug fixes, create new features, or compatibility for New Anki, I will notify you and you can install it. Thanks for fixing this addon💯🙏 Even though Instead of giving me a warning, I get a small addon error every time I try to delete a note from the reviewer, well at least it will prevent me from deleting the card by mistake by giving me that error popup, as someone who only delete cards from browser and not while reviewing, this does the job for me, so it will still be of full use till this thing gets fixed💯⭐🥂 Comment from author Hi I have repaired again and uploaded this add-on so please try it ou

I like this addon, but unfortunately it didn’t work on Anki 23.12.1 and I use Windows 10 I tested here to delete a card and also a deck, but when I deleted it, it didn’t ask anything, it deleted automatically, but I used ctrl z to recover Comment from author --- Edit: 2025-10-20 --- Hi are you still studying with Anki?
