This is just a simple add-on to download a patch for a workaround for a problem with Contanki not working with Anki25.02.1. You will not need this Patch once official Anki adds support or the author of Contanki updates the add-on. (I plan to notify you when this is resolved.) (🚨Note: It does not solve the problem which also occurs in other versions than Anki25.02.1.)

This is a very temporary patch for Anki 25.02.1 only, and it is likely that the next Anki update will resolve this issue (or would the author of Contanki update the Add-on), so this add-on will soon become unnecessary. Contanki has many settings. This add-on overwrites Contanki, so you can keep your settings, also you will be notified when the original author updates Contanki, so it is easy to revert back to the original. How to use Overwrite the original Contanki. Original Contanki settings will be taken over(meta.json). When the original Contanki is updated, this patch will be overwritten and removed. (You can update it at any time and return to the original and latest Contanki.) You can install again from the menu after updating.
After installation, please reboot Anki.
Other If you are having problems with Anki 25.02.1, downgrading to Anki 25.02 will solve the problem. Perhaps waiting until the next Anki update will solve this problem. -> Anki25.02 I’m not sure if this workaround will work stably in the long term, so I recommend to revert back to the original Contanki when it is no longer needed. If you are using Anki older than Anki 25.02.1, this Patch will do nothing. 🚨Note
To be more precise, this add-on is just a temporary workaround for a serious bug in Anki 25.02.1 that prevented Contanki from working. There is no other added features in this Patch, so it does not solve the problem of Contanki not working due to other reasons. In other words, when Contaki does not work even outside of Anki 25.02.1, using this add-on instead will not solve the problem. If so, I recommend you to try a general software to connect Remote instead of add-ons (e.g. Windows: JoyToKey, Mac: Karabiner).

Can’t connect my controller. Comment from author Hi thanks for the error report. This add-on is a temporary patch for Anki 2.5.0.1 users only, and was not developed to resolve general connection issues with Contanki. I’m still looking into the issue where the original Contanki is broken for some users, so if both the original Contanki and this Contanki fail to work, I recommend using Joytokey (Windows) or Karabiner (Mac) instead.

my controller no longer works since 3 months ago with all the switches and bugs. controller connects to Mac but not anki. no dmg to controller. 8bitdo zero 2. Do I need to have the original Contanki downloaded first before I download your add-on? I deleted the original Contanki and only downloaded your Patch Downloader Comment from author Hi thanks for the question. It works even without Contanki but the problem that this patch solves has already been fixed in the latest version of Anki, so unless you are using some version of Anki 25.02 I think this patch is no longer needed.

fixed an issue i randomly had with connecting 8bitdo to my anki. works perfectly now. Before it was connected but reset to the default settings and I didn’t realize it at first :( had to re-do those cards lol

I missed the 25.02.1 update, and now I’m on 25.02.6. Contanki isn’t causing any problems for me, So I’m wondering if this patch is obsolete? Comment from author Yes, this add-on is a simple Patch that I fixed for Anki25.02, though I haven’t checked it exactly yet, the latest Anki should already have the solution, so if you don’t have any problem, you don’t need to use it.

I have refreshed the app and restarted my laptop multiple times. I have also deleted and re-added the add-on. It is connecting fine, and works temporarily, but this message pops up on the app.
