LATEST UPDATE: v20200322 (March 22, 2020)
Now supports scraping weblio’s Wikipedia definitions as well!
It is also my first addon, so help is welcome. See the repo for the addon here.
Purpose: to automatically grab monolingual Japanese definitions from the 大辞林 (daijirin) dictionary for adding to notes.
As an AJATT learner, I always liked having my definitions on my cards, so I figured it would be best to just have an addon do it for me.
Usage:
Download addon and restart Anki
Open an editor window
Click on a field where you would like to add a definition
Click the addon icon in the top right
Enter a term in the search bar, press the search (検索) button, and wait for the scraper to grab the definition
You should see it appear in the larger box below the search bar
If you need more definitions, repeat step 5 until you have all the desired definitions for your card
Press the add (追加) button to insert the definitions you grabbed to the note field you selected in step 3
Win!
Shortcuts in the addon window:
Enter: search for a definition
Ctrl + Enter: add definitions to note field

Thanks for this! It would be even better if it just filled it in automatically

This is actually good add on, the only missing piece is bulk add like on sanseido(2.0 only)
edit: just researched a bit and found out the 国語辞書 - 大辞泉 is better than daijirin? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Japanese_dictionary#Japanese_language_dictionaries
“also edited by Matsumura Akira (above), has 220,000 entries, and is practically a twin of the Daijirin. Two minor improvements are color pictures instead of line art and replacing classical usage citations with contemporary ones.”
edit2: app

It’d be more awesome if this can support bulk edit like the Sanseido addon. But I like the way it lets me manually choose the field and dictionary input.
