Automatic Cursor Hider (and Amboss Popup Fix)
This addon automatically hides your mouse cursor during review sessions to help you focus on the card content without distractions.
It’s designed to be simple and seamless: the cursor disappears when you don’t need it and reappears the instant you move your mouse.
Key Features Hides automatically: The cursor disappears immediately when a new card is shown (question or answer). Reappears on demand: The cursor instantly becomes visible as soon as you move your mouse, and stays visible until the next card. Lightweight and Efficient: Uses a modern, event-based approach with no timers, ensuring zero performance impact. Configurable: You can choose to enable the addon only when Anki is in fullscreen mode or only during reviews. A Solution for Amboss Add-on Users
A major benefit of this addon is that it helps prevent the Amboss add-on from showing popups on accidental mouse movements.
While the cursor is hidden, this addon disables all mouse interactions with the card’s web content (including hovers, clicks, and scrolling). This means Amboss tooltips will not appear unless you intentionally move your mouse to make the cursor visible first. This provides a much cleaner and less distracting study experience for medical students and other Amboss users.
Instructions & Configuration
After installing, you can configure the addon by going to: Tools → Hide Cursor Settings…
From the settings dialog, you can control:
Only when Anki is fullscreen: (Default: On) The cursor will only be hidden if Anki is in fullscreen mode. Only on the Review screen: (Default: On) The cursor will only be hidden on the reviewer screen, not in the deck browser or other menus. Compatibility
This addon is designed for modern Anki versions.
Requires Anki 23.10+ (Qt6).
This is a no-timer, event-driven version designed for modern Anki. It should be stable and efficient.

Great plugin, works fantastic in full screen on Windows. The settings revert each time, however, when trying to change them and hitting “ok”, so it doesn’t function if not in full-screen mode. Already tried changing video drivers, etc. Thoughts? Edit: Works flawlessly now, thanks for the fix!!! Comment from author before post was edited Should be fixed, let me know if not
