What it does: This add-on increases the build-in field size limit 130712 bytes to 10 megabytes by default, you can easily change it in the code. You do not need to do anything. When importing from text files you won’t get the error message due to size too large.
Uses: It can be useful for for storing large HTML code for reference, or storing data uri on a filed and use it via Object entity on the card template. For instance, having a lot of in-line SVG data on one field, where almost allways are <2kB, but some files cab be >100k, then those notes won’t be imported because surpasses the limitation. I personaly used for that matter in the past to simplify the storage in my phone using AnkiDroid.
Disclaimer: Use this add-on with caution, Anki is not meant to have huge fiels of text in the collection. This add-on is meant to let you import for some few cases that would be necesary.
