This add-on allows automatically generating readings (furigana) and pitch accent information for an entire field with a single button press. It can also convert any amount of cards in bulk.
The add-on is currently experimental and you’ll probably encounter bugs or crashes. Data corruption due to this addon is extremely unlikely (probably even impossible), the specific notes being changed aside, but you should still make backups, especially when bulk converting notes, and enable Anki’s built-in automatic backups if you haven’t already.

NOTE: While version 0.2 is only officially supported on Anki 2.1.55 and later, you can still try manually installing the ipadic variant from the GitHub release at your own risk if you’re using version 2.1.50-2.1.54.

It looks fine in mac. i get a error message after running: “Mecab error: invalid line: param.cpp(69) [ifs] no such file or directory:/opt/homebrew/bin/mecabrc”, just need to add touch /opt/homebrew/bin/mecabrc to create a empty file in that directory to get it works. For those who have problems in mac, pls read the article written by author: https://github.com/Ben-Kerman/anki-jrp.

I’m going to be honest I haven’t used this addon yet. The truth is, I have been using migaku Japanese for some time and I’m really bummed out that it isn’t supported freely for newer anki versions, and this seems like an incredible alternative. I have struggled a bit with setting the note types up and I haven’t fully made the switch yet (I’m keeping the old anki version for now, I’ll try again when I’m more rested), but thank you for creating this for people who want a good pitch accent addon fo

I followed all the steps but it doesn’t recognize mecab on the mac. It keeps saying mecab not found. I verified it is installed and everything. It’s a shame because it looks nice. Comment from author If you manually set the executable path: Did you disable “Use system-wide MeCab executable” in the addon’s preferences?
If you just installed MeCab without changing the exe path, are you sure it’s in your $PATH environment variable? Does running ‘mecab —version’ in the terminal work?
