My Images
My Images is a searchable media browser and image management tool for Anki. It allows you to quickly find, preview, and insert images from your existing media collection directly into the card editor.
Use Case
This is the addon I use most often, because I often reuse good images I already have in the media folder; whenever I’m reviewing and think ‘this card could do with a picture’, odds are I’m thinking of a specific one from a related card. They’re only searchable if I rename them, so best practices is to rename your screenshots to something other than the default whenever you add them for the first time. If you don’t want to use this, I yoinked the rename code and included it in this addon, because it’s useless without images with useful names.
I treat image names in anki like tags, I add every key word I can think of to the filename, that way I can find it via associated terms.

Select “Search and Add Media…” Type your search terms. Hover to preview; Left-Click to insert. Renaming an Image Right-Click an existing image in the editor. Select “Rename Image…” Type the new name. Anki will handle the file renaming and update all your cards automatically.
