This add-on restores the search behavior in the “study deck” dialog found in Anki 2.0.8 and earlier, allowing characters that are not consecutive to be searched for in a single search term. So if you have a deck called “5 Computers::Anki”, with this add-on you can search for it with “5puki”.
This turns out to sometimes be more efficient and sometimes less efficient than the current behavior of requiring consecutive characters (but allowing multiple search terms separated by spaces). In particular, if you have a complex tree of subdecks, this method may be more useful because it allows you to easily drill down by typing a couple of characters from each level of the name. If you don’t like the current method, give this add-on a try and delete it if it doesn’t work well for you.
This add-on essentially just reverts commit 19f62e8 of the main Anki project.
