This add-on adds shortcuts and menu actions for the reviewer and browser to quickly change cards to a specified deck.
This add-on is a fixed and Enhanced version for Anki25+ of the addon “Quick Change Deck (Ank2.0)”, some code and ideas are credited to them (author unknown 2015).
How to use
First, specify the deck in the options. (Menu -> Tools -> Quick Change Deck -> Select Quick Deck) After that quickly change decks using shortcut keys or menu actions.
e.g. if you want to quickly move too difficult cards to another deck, create a Difficult Deck and select it. (the deck name can be anything.)
Reviewer
Quickly change decks using a shortcut key or the More button. Reviewer -> More -> Quick Change Deck (or Shortcut key Shift+C)
The tooltip will display the changed deck name.
You can restore this deck change using Undo.
(If decks are nested only the lowest deck’s name is displayed, and if the deck name is too long it is automatically omitted, max 20.)
Browse
Quickly change decks using a shortcut key or the Card menu. Browse -> Menu (or right click) -> Card -> Quick Change Deck (or Shortcut key Shift+C) You can select multiple cards at once.
Option
Options can be accessed from the Tools or Add-ons Dialog. Or, when the deck is not yet set up, using the shortcut will automatically open the Options.
You can only select one deck. Shortcut keys can be customized to any key you prefer in both the reviewer and browser. If shortcut keys aren’t working they may be conflicting with keys from other add-ons, if so please change them to different keys.
You don’t need to restart Anki after changing settings, but if you already open the Reviewer and Browser you need to close them and reopen them (maybe).
Note Filtered decks are not supported. I recommend to check if change deck is working fine before using it. There is no function to save the original deck before changing decks (except undo), so if you want to restore cards to their original deck later, I recommend saving the deck name with a tag beforehand. Older versions of Anki are not supported yet. If it doesn’t work, please send me a request and send me your Anki version. Change log 2025-10-23 [1] First release (Fixed and Enhanced)

📥 How do I install this add-on? This add-on works with Anki for desktop (it does not work on mobile). Download Anki from the official website if you haven’t already. Copy and paste the add-on code ( 398819226 ) into Anki and you can install it. ( Menu -> Tools -> Add-ons -> Get Add-ons -> Code [ add-on code ] ) When I develop bug fixes, create new features, or compatibility for New Anki, I will notify you and you can install it.
