Mô tả chi tiết

Anki addon that allows you to change ease factor on cards.

In the browser, right click on selected cards or find the “Cards” entry on the menu bar. Choose “Set Ease Factor…” option from the list that appears.

In the reviewer, click on the “More” button in the lower-right corner. Choose “Set Ease Factor…” option from the list that appears.

If you don’t like the changes, use Anki’s default undo functionality (CTRL-Z or Edit->Undo).

Changelog: 2021-12-19 - Remember last used input. Allow multiplicative edits (e.g. “*0.8,1.2” will multiply all current ease factors by a random value between 0.8 and 1.2). 2022-03-28 - Allow simple add and multiply operations without using random ranges (e.g. “+10” or “*1.1”). 2022-04-12 - Fix problems with Anki 2.1.45. NOTE: Because 2.1.45 doesn’t support batch updates, undo reverts one card at a time on 2.1.45. 2022-11-06 - Show warning and abort when trying to set ease factor on new cards because Anki reverts their ease to default value after graduation. 2022-11-17 - Add option to change ease factor from reviewer context menu. Display current ease when single card selected. 2022-12-25 - Implemented keyboard shortcuts option. Default is “Ctrl+Shift+Alt+F”. You can change or disable (just leave empty) in the config.

Big fan of this addon, useful for spacing apart large group of cards. Takes you ages to make that update for Set added date tho Comment from author “Takes you ages to make that update for Set added date tho”

True… I’ve finally updated it though! It’s only been half a year…

Awesome add on.

Maybe I’m missing something, but would be great if I could somehow create a shortcut for it while in the browser.

Would it be possible to change the ease while reviewing cards (instead of having to go through browser)

Super helpful add on thought! Just experiencing first world problems at this point :)

Edit: Thanks for the update!!! And yes, exactly like the set due date option! Maybe I use this add on a little weird, but I’ll sometimes answer a card correctly but I’m miss

Shouldn’t need an addon for this kinda thing. And comes with a few extra features, what a delight! Comment from author I really like those extra features and am secretly hoping at least one more person likes them. Never knew how much I need ease factor randomness until I made this addon.

I’m a medical student, and I’m so glad for this add on. It allows me to confidentally fail cards, with the knowledge that I can always change the ease factor in bulk. I’m also happy this add on doesn’t force me to change the ease factor of cards one at a time. Comment from author Glad it’s useful! Ability to do comfortable bulk operations from the app itself is the reason I made this addon. Messing with the database is annoying.

Thanks! Should be available in Anki out of the box, though. Comment from author I agree! Anki already has some good options for manual editing like “Set Due Date” or “Forget” and I don’t think the functionality of this addon feels out of place at all. Thanks for leaving a like!

Thank you, helped me to migrate from another software

I’ve noticed that the card ease is not changed, as long as the cards are marked as “new”. One have to change it’s interval first (e.g. +1 day), then the ease can be adjusted (previous changes are then visible, too) Comment from author Yeah, I’ve noticed but am not sure what to do about it. As you’ve seen, it only affects new cards because Anki doesn’t give them an ease factor (why would it, new cards’ intervals don’t depend on their ease).

Works with 2.1.49.

Update: Yes, it’s useful as well. Can get you out of “Ease Hell”. Comment from author before post was edited Thanks! I hope it not only works but is (at least somewhat) useful!

Thank you, I really needed this ! Comment from author Thanks for the thumbs up!

Thanks for the addon. Does work perfectly in 2.1.49.

but..

Didn’t work.. in anki 2.1.45

what i did:

selected cards, clicked set ease, entered 250 in the text box, clicked okay… then a pop-up with just a exclamation icon and nothing else showed up .. and the ease of the cards were same as before. Comment from author I’ve updated the addon on GitHub that hopefully fixes the issue with 2.1.45. You can download the files there and let me know how it goes. I will test that version on my end for

Google search results said “there is no easy way” to edit the ease. No, it is wrong. This is the easy way. Comment from author In Google’s defense, this addon is relatively new so not a lot of people know about it. I assume the only other place linking here is its GitHub description page. Thanks for the review!

Accidentally set the start ease for my default deck to 130%. Didn’t realize it until a while later when I had 500+ cards with 130% ease. This plugin saved my ass, thanks a lot! Comment from author Thanks for the thumbs up!

Compared to other addons it gives you the right granularity Comment from author Thanks!
