This addon makes the Card, Note, and Deck columns in the browser sortable. Sorting is case-insensitive. The search box cannot be empty.
If the (primary) sort key is the card type, then the secondary sort key is the note type; and vice versa. For instance, if one clicks on the Note column and then searches for (say) “human”, the cards are sorted first by note type and then by card type.
The original script’s author is Teemu Pudas.

Thank you !!! It’s what I needed to sort a larger number of cards into different decks efficiently. Without the add-on Anki can’t sort the “Card” column in alphabetical order.

After installing add-on, I sorted on Note type for a deck and the sort did not work. Then in deck view, I clicked on Tools | check database… and rebuilt the database. After this was done, the sort worked correctly. Thanks for the great add-on for Anki 2.1!

Finally!
PS. There is a bug in this add-on. It’s messing up sorting on other fields like “created” and “edited”. Comment from author Thanks for the comment. As for the bug you mentioned, on my Mac at any rate the problem does not seem to occur. Could it be due to the fact that the search box (as noted in the description) cannot be empty? In other words, could you once type ⌘F, then (say) the letter “A”, and then try to sort the Created or the Edited column? Sometimes it’s also useful to type ⇧⌘
