The feature aims to prevent the rapid introduction of both sides of the same flashcard. In my opinion, it would be much better if the app waited until I have become proficient in one side before introducing the other side.
For instance, I use Anki to study English. At the beginning, the app displays a phrase in English, and I need to translate it to Portuguese. It takes some time for me to learn the phrase, and I don’t want the app to show the inverse side (which is more difficult) before I feel comfortable with the first side.

With this add-on, when the first side of the card is shown, it will look for all siblings and suspend them while the current side is not mature. Once it reaches the mature level, the next sibling will be unsuspended.
To start using it:
- Install the add-on, restart Anki
- Open the Deck (wich you want to use this add-on)
- Click on menu “Tools”
- Check “Enable suspend card until mature for this Deck”

Exactly what I had been looking for a while. I practice music patterns with this.

Hi, I’m giving a positive rating because I really appreciate the work you’ve done. This add-on could be what enables me to get Anki to achieve very non-standard objectives. But. After first installing it I noticed a very strange behavior, it looked like it influenced the burying of my decks even after I unchecked the mark and/or manually removed the deck from the add-on configuration. Then I read this:
“In any case, this add-on buries the sibling if both are in the queue for the same day (Anki

Does this add-on do what is described as a manual solution in this comment on reddit?
https://www.reddit.com/r/Anki/comments/gh3bqr/comment/fq8grt7/ Comment from author Yes, surely!
It addresses completely what the post’s author was looking for.
I would appreciate if you could share the link of this add-on there. Once I don’t have an account in Reddit.

Interesting idea.
I already use and like the delay sibling add on, which I believe is very effective.
But you’re right, there is still a problem of seeing siblings too close together at the learning stage.
But, if your add-on waits until the first sibling graduates from learning to mature to unsuspend the second, isn’t there still the issue that you’re reviewing the siblings back-to-back? Comment from author I used the ‘delay sibling’ too, and it worked great! However, lately, it hasn’t bee

doesn’t anki already have an option to bury siblings of cards that are shown to you on that day?
edit: i think you can edit how long a card goes before it goes mature. you can also bury new, review and interday siblings. as far as i understand your addon suspends cards until they are fully mature over a few days. makes sense good addon but i prefer to see a concept even if i did it yesterday Comment from author before post was edited Yes, it has! but it buries sibling for 1 day.
