NOTE: This is fixed in newer versions of Anki 2.1. This addon is only needed for people who use old versions of Anki 2.1.
Fixes the lack of subpixel anti-aliasing on Anki 2.1 by overriding the color set as QWebEnginePage’s background. Vanilla Anki 2.1 uses Qt.transparent, which prevents subpixel anti-aliasing from working.
Exact background color is configurable.

Default Text rendering on Anki’s Linux version sucks @$$. This add on is still useful. Using it on version 2.1.30, and it makes fonts glorious.

I can confirm that this also works on Linux (Kubuntu 18.04). You should really consider filing this as a pull request to Anki proper. Even if it is platform-specific (i.e. only turns out to work on Linux and Windows), it still makes sense to apply it by

Seems to work on macOS to! Good stuff. Although to be honest I didn’t even know it was broken. Might be because of my retina screen.
