This add-on allows you to autofill your cards using ChatGPT or Anthropic’s Claude.
ChatGPT can do all kind of things for your Anki cards:
translate your fields explain stuff in plain English explain grammar add comments about the emotions, argo language, cultural references, formality level of the sentences in your phrases. It’s like asking a native speaker! give examples on how the word or piece of grammar is used generate questions about the text in the cards summarize the text in the cards … and so much more!
Pick a field from your card and use its name in your ChatGPT prompt, for example:
Explain grammar in the following Japanese sentence: {{{Sentence}}}
The result will be saved in a field of your choice, for example in the “Grammar Explanation” field.
You can use multiple fields, too, for example:
Is the word {{{Word}}} used in a literate or figurative sense in the following sentence? {{{Sentence}}}
Fill multiple cards You can pick multiple cards and ask ChatGPT to fill their fields!
In the cards browser use Shift key to pick multiple cards. Then right click on them and pick the IntelliFiller menu. You will see the list of prompts.
Save your prompts
You can save the prompts you like and reuse them later.
Installation
Don’t forget to restart Anki after you installed the Add-on!
You will need to get ChatGPT API key, you will need to sign up in OpenAI and get it here.
Cost
Each request to ChatGPT API costs $0.002 , so you should not spend more than a couple of bucks on average-size deck. All money goes to ChatGPT, not me 😭.

Excellent. Works as expected. You can change from model="gpt-3.5-turbo" to model="gpt-4o-mini" or model="gpt-4o" by editing the file data_request.py inside the addon directory. See pricing at https://openai.com/api/pricing/ to know how much each will cost you each model.

Excellent app. I love it.
By the way, for people wanting to use different models (ie gpt4), you can edit data_request.py and put the appropriate modelname as the model= parameter in openai.ChatCompletion.create().
Dear author, I have had one issue when processing large decks (with gpt4) - openai has a daily rate limit. When this gets hit, the anki crashes with no useful error messages. I figured out what was doing on using gdp and debugging the python script crash - its a daily token rate limi
