This add-on creates a progress bar that tracks your vocabulary and grammar proficiency across levels N5 to N1.
What It Does
Adds a visual bar to your main window that updates automatically as you review. It shows how close you are to completing each JLPT level based on the cards you have learned.
Useful when you:
Are aiming for a specific JLPT level. Keep Vocabulary and Grammar in separate decks. Want to see your progress at a glance without opening the stats window. Features Visual Dashboard: Displays simple progress bars for N5 to N1 directly in the Deck Browser. Smart Tracking: Updates the bar in real time as you learn new cards. Separate Metrics: Tracks Vocabulary and Grammar separately on the bar. Study Estimation: Estimates when you will finish based on your current study pace. Customizable: Full control over which decks and note types count toward the progress bar. Installation Open Anki. Go to Tools > Add-ons. Click Get Add-ons… Enter code: 1974848661 (2.1+) Click OK and restart Anki. Setup
After installing, go to Tools > JLPT Tracker Settings (or click the gear icon on the dashboard) to configure:
Deck Selection: Choose specifically which decks to track (supports multi-selection). Note Type Assignment: Label your Note Types as “Vocab,” “Grammar,” or “Ignore.” Exam Date: Optional setting to activate the countdown.
Note: This add-on assumes that vocabulary and grammar are distinguishable by Note Type or Deck.
Usage Open the Anki Deck Browser. The dashboard appears automatically at the top of the window. Review your cards normally. The progress bar fills up as you pass cards. Notes Requires Anki 2.1.50 or higher. You must manually assign Note Types in the settings for the tracker to distinguish between Grammar and Vocab. Support
