Mô tả chi tiết

Adds two hotkeys to the reviewer: ‘H’ to reveal hints one by one, ‘Shift+H’ to reveal all hints at once. Both hotkeys can be customized.

CONFIGURATION

To change the hotkeys, simply head to Tools → Add-ons, find Hint Hotkeys in the list of add-ons, and then click on the Config button. The info pane to the right will explain how to set the keys.

TROUBLESHOOTING

If the default hotkeys and/or your customized hotkeys do not work, it is likely due to a key conflict with a card template, add-on, or Anki itself. In that case please try out another hotkey, taking heed to go back to Anki’s main screen to make sure your changes are applied.

CHANGELOG

Version 1.0.0 – 2023-04-14

Changed

Completely rewrote the add-on with 2.1.5x+ compatibility in mind (tested on 2.1.49 - 2.1.62) Changed default hotkey for revealing all hints to “Shift+H” in order to avoid key conflict with Image Occlusion Enhanced Added

Hotkeys can now be configured via Anki’s built-in add-on config editor Fixed

Fixed an issue that was causing the add-on not to work properly when audio or TTS was present on the card (thanks to DoctorToBeIn23 for the report and ijgnd for the fix!) Fixed an issue that was preventing the reveal all hotkey from actually revealing all hints You can view all past releases here.

HELP AND SUPPORT

Please do not use reviews for bug reports or support requests. I don’t get notified of your reviews, and properly troubleshooting an issue through them is nearly impossible. Instead, please either use the issue tracker (preferred), add-on support forums, or just message me at ankiglutanimate@gmail.com. Constructive feedback and suggestions are always welcome!

Works perfectly! Thank you!

doesn’t work if you also have the “fill in the blanks” cloze addon. pressing the buttons do nothing. also doesnt have any option to specify what the hints are or how to set them

great work!! and there’s one thing that im curious. how this addon recognize hint? is it possible to change it to reveal other thing? e.g. tags(i’ve written it in cards, and currently it showed as a regular field)

👍 2023-07-13

Reason? It’s useful!

Pressing H is not working on the Anki 2.1.63 but Shift + H works though

Works great on 2.1.47!

*Update - works fine for me on 2.1.54 Qt6

I did download the python program so I could change the ‘show all’ hotkey to “shift+H”, which worked fine.

If I do upgrade past 2.1.53 then I’ll do as others have suggested and update line 60 with “…getElementsByClassName(‘hint’)” (instead of the getElementById(‘a’) or whatever it currently is)

Does not appear to be working for Anki version ⁨2.1.54 (b6a7760c)⁩ Comment from author Heya, thanks for the feedback and sorry about the late response! I just rewrote the add-on, and the hint hotkeys should now hopefully work again in all scenarios. A quick heads-up, though: I had to change the default hotkey for revealing all hints from “G” to “Shift+H” to avoid conflicts with image occlusion (in case that was the issue you were running into). Hope that helps :)

Thanks! Works with well with Version ⁨2.1.54

If you use a newer version as 2.1.53 like me, you should do a slight modification to make it work.

1.First, open the file “reviewer_hint_hotkeys.py”. You can find the folder by clicking the button “View Files” on Anki’s Add-ons panel.

2.Jump to line 60, replace the sentence with “var arr = document.getElementsByClassName(‘hint’);”

3.Save, and restart Anki.

This seems like an amazing Add-on, too bad it’s not working for me on Anki 2.1.50 and newer. Hoping for an update in the near future! Comment from author Heya, thanks for the feedback and sorry about the late response! Works exactly as advertised. Helpful to keep hands on the keyboard at all times.

useful.

In 2021 there’s an alternative to this add-on available at https://forums.ankiweb.net/t/hint-fields-show-one-by-one-incremental-reveal-uncovering-with-hotkey-js-only/13866/2 . The advantage of this javascript only solution is that it works without any add-on by just copying it into a card template. This allows you to only use it for the cards types where you need it.

such a useful addon that saves so much time when reviewing cards. map “H” to a mouse or controller for more efficient anki reviews.

Needed this So Bad!

Works like Magic!!!

The H shortcut works. All I needed

👍 2021-04-01

Should be implemented in Anki

Must have add-on

👍 2021-03-18

Works simply and well. I love being able to use hotkeys to feed me my hints. Thanks so much for writing this!

👍 2021-02-17

Really useful add-on ~ thanks a lot!

I added ‘Alt’ to the shortcut, so it works when a type field is active

TO ANYONE HAVING ISSUE WITH AUDIO OVERLAPPING.

  1. Go to Add on > Hint Hotkeys > View Files

  2. Open “reviewer_hint_hotkeys.py” with Notepad

  3. Change this line

Shortcut that will reveal all hint fields at once:

SHORTCUT_ALL = “Z”

with Z is the hotkey you want to change to. I use Z since it does not bind to any others function.

Thank Glutamine for the amazing add-on.
